I have been pretty lax about updating the blog lately, as we've been staying pretty busy.
Dan and Cat and I went for a walk after my internship today.
We've gone for a few walks before, and Cat usually sleeps through them. This is actually a picture of Cat on her first walk...it was a little warmer today, and she was awake for the whole walk. She seemed to enjoy it, except when the sun got in her eyes. We tried to keep her facing out of the sun, but at one point we had to turn around and come home.
We also broke out our Mei Tai Baby carrier today to try out. We've been using the pouch until now, as Cat is so tiny, but I think we may use the Mei Tai a little now too. Dan seems to be interested in trying it out.
We discovered this week that Cat loves The Beatles. She is particularly fond of Rocky Raccoon and I Am the Walrus, which I often change for her to I Am the Pea Pod (our nickname for her). I think she will also like Octopus's Garden, so we're looking for that for her too.
Cat has started to sleep a little better, and is usually in bed by 10pm or so, then up a time or two during the night and again at 6am to eat before I leave for my internship, then she usually goes back to sleep by 8am and sleeps until 9:30 or 10.
She has stopped eating continuously, and we are anxious for her next doctor's appointment to see how much she weighs now! She goes again on 4/3.
Dan and I worked on Cat's room a bit tonight. He finally finished all the spackling and sanding and vacuumed up all the dust, then we put on the first coat of primer. I did all the cutting in while he did the ceilings and then we did the walls together. The room will be painted a nice light green that is the same color as the green in Cat's crib bedding, which I like a lot--I think it's not too babyish. I want to get a big giraffe like the one in the picture when her room is done!
I have applied for several jobs for the fall and one for the summer--summer school...fun, fun, fun. I'll keep you all updated on how that is going.
Last we heard from Eric, he was on his way home and was in Mexico. I had a dream this morning that he showed up at our door unannounced and earlier than we thought, so hopefully we'll see him sooner than later. Eric, if you're reading this: ¡venga a casa pronto! ¡Cat desea decir hola!
